Job Opportunity
We are looking for experienced 2-person subcontractor teams to carry out Openreach MDU surveys and network design delivery.
Setup:
- Own van and tools required.
Rates:
- Competitive price per home + dedicated rates for test rod & roping.
Key Responsibilities

Preparation & Coordination:
- Contact customers to schedule site visits
- Review asbestos registers
- Complete preliminary building inspection checks

Prep Work and On-Site Survey:
- Conduct physical site surveys
- Carry out test rod and roping
- Perform duct seal removal and replacement to connect the external network to the site

Design & Risk Management:
- Draft network design and build instructions on the designated platform
- Identify potential hazards or constraints
- Propose viable fibre installation solutions

Safety & Communication:
- Maintain strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
- Liaise regularly with internal teams, building owners, and client representatives to keep projects running smoothly

- SA002/SA006 & SA007

- SA030
- SA031
- K008
Required Experience/Skills
- Experience in telecommunications surveying or network planning, particularly with Openreach MDU workstreams.
- Openreach ORION knowledge is essential.
- Competence with other digital survey tools, mapping software, and common office applications (e.g., Excel, PDF mark-up tools, online project platforms).
- Strong skills in interpreting technical drawings, building plans, asbestos reports, and network schematics, with attention to detail and accuracy in data collection.
- Knowledge of fibre network infrastructure, duct and cable routing, and associated civil works, including awareness of Openreach standards and best practices.
- Understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements relevant to telecoms fieldwork and construction-related surveys.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work remotely, manage time independently, and report clearly on survey outcomes.
- Proven ability to work to targets and deadlines, with a methodical approach to problem-solving in complex building or network environments.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites when required; prior experience working with or for Openreach is highly beneficial.
