The Role:
As an Operating Department Practitioner with us, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering safe, effective, and compassionate care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional procedures. This is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact and develop your career.
What You'll Do:
- Delivery of safe and effective patient care
- Clinical support for procedural services
- Patient safety, quality, and infection prevention
- Multidisciplinary team collaboration and service improvement
What You'll Have:
Experience and skills:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience post qualification.
- Experience working as an Operating Department Practitioner within an acute healthcare, theatre, day surgery, endoscopy, or procedural setting.
- Strong understanding of perioperative and patient safety principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated patient-focused approach to care.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise workload and remain calm under pressure.
- Experience supporting sedation or anaesthetic procedures.
- Participation in quality improvement or audit projects.

Qualifications and Knowledge:
- Diploma or Degree in Operating Department Practice.
- Registered Operating Department Practitioner with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Current Immediate Life Support (ILS) certification or willingness to obtain.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, infection prevention, clinical governance, and risk management principles.
