Operating Department Practitioner at GenesisCare UK

The Role:

As an Operating Department Practitioner with us, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering safe, effective, and compassionate care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional procedures. This is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact and develop your career.

What You'll Do:

  • Delivery of safe and effective patient care
  • Clinical support for procedural services
  • Patient safety, quality, and infection prevention
  • Multidisciplinary team collaboration and service improvement

What You'll Have:

Experience and skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience post qualification.
  • Experience working as an Operating Department Practitioner within an acute healthcare, theatre, day surgery, endoscopy, or procedural setting.
  • Strong understanding of perioperative and patient safety principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated patient-focused approach to care.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and remain calm under pressure.
  • Experience supporting sedation or anaesthetic procedures.
  • Participation in quality improvement or audit projects.

Qualifications and Knowledge:

  • Diploma or Degree in Operating Department Practice.
  • Registered Operating Department Practitioner with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Current Immediate Life Support (ILS) certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, infection prevention, clinical governance, and risk management principles.
