- We are seeking Casual Operating Theatre Assistants!
- Salary Classification: Anaesthetic/Operating Theatre Technician
- Remuneration: $35.05 per hour + superannuation + annual leave loading + salary packaging options [https://www.prosperity.com.au/].
About the role
The Operating Theatre Assistant is essential to the process flow of the operating theatre and works under the direction of the Nurse Manager. This position involves a seven-day roster with on-call and overtime responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the transfer of patients to and from the Operating Theatre.
- Assist with transfers and positioning of patients in the operating theatre (once competency has been assessed).
- Assist with the application of Diathermy plates and positioning equipment within the operating theatre suite (once competency has been assessed).
- Maintains a safe and clean environment by regularly dry/wet mopping before, during and after theatre lists.
What you bring
- Recent experience in an Operating theatre environment.
- Strong willingness to learn.
- Commitment to customer service.
- Demonstrated communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to work proficiently in periods of high demand and activity.
