Operational Asset & Marine Controller
Full-Time, Permanent
Newtownards, Site-Based
The Role
We are looking for an Operational Asset and Marine Controller to join the James Fisher Control Room Services team.
In this dynamic role, you will assist in the control, coordination, and monitoring of all marine activities, including personnel movements, contractor operations, and Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV) activities associated with offshore work scopes.
Please note that this role requires flexibility to work both day and night shifts.
What You'll Be Doing
- Monitor client electrical network infrastructure, ensuring system events are accurately identified, logged and responded to in line with their criticality, minimising operational risk.
- Liaise with the Control Room Engineer to ensure critical alarms are assessed and managed appropriately.
- Coordinate with authorised field personnel to facilitate prompt responses to alarms and operational issues.
- Prepare and distribute daily, weekly and monthly alarm reports to clients.
- Provide daily HV Control updates to clients, detailing completed activities and planned work for the following 24-hour period.
- Carry out emergency switching operations when required, including disconnecting generators from the grid and adjusting voltage set points in accordance with Network System Operator instructions.

What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 4 GCSEs (or equivalent), including Mathematics and English Language.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other core IT applications.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to support varying work patterns and operational requirements.
- Marine Coordinator qualification desirable; alternatively, a willingness to undertake and achieve the qualification.
