Job Title: Operational Data Analyst
Location: Homebased with travel to Glasgow
Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 based on experience
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday
Right to live and work in the UK is required for this role.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a vetting process.
Role Summary
The Operational Data Analyst delivers high-quality data management, reporting, and analytical support to the Operations Directorate, with a strong focus on operational and customer needs. The role involves producing KPI and compliance reports, handling data requests, and ensuring data accuracy, while identifying opportunities to streamline processes and support automation. Acting as a key data partner, it provides insights to support performance analysis, operational initiatives, and data-driven decision-making in collaboration with IT and stakeholders.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
- Produce bespoke reports (e.g. KPI, compliance, invoicing) and develop dashboards/visualisations to support decision-making
- Perform manual data processing (e.g. joiners/leavers, data updates, customer data feeds) and reconcile supplier invoices to ensure data accuracy
- Identify and implement process improvements, including opportunities for automation, and define requirements for the MI team
- Act as a key data contact for operational projects, providing analysis on performance, efficiency, case flow, and supporting business cases and outcome modelling
- Collaborate with IT and stakeholders to access, prepare, and utilise data from multiple sources
- Recommend and develop sustainable, long-term reporting solutions while improving existing reporting processes
- Maintain clear documentation for data and reporting activities and support the central MI team with requests and ad hoc tasks
Experience, Skills And Knowledge Required For The Role
- Data Analysis & Visualization: Expert in Power Query (Excel) and Power BI—able to clean, combine, and transform data from multiple sources, and create interactive dashboards that tell a clear story.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Able to analyze complex information, spot trends, identify opportunities, and construct logical, persuasive recommendations.
- Influencing & Communication: Skilled at presenting complex quantitative and qualitative data clearly, to engage, influence, and gain buy-in from stakeholders at all levels.
- Continuous Improvement & Change Advocacy: Proactively identifies process improvements, champions positive change, and supports organizational growth.
- Attention to Detail & Accuracy: Ensures reports and documentation are precise, meaningful, and fit for purpose.
- Collaboration & Relationship Building: Builds strong, trust-based relationships across teams, fostering a collaborative working environment.
- Resilience & Proactive Mindset: Responds constructively to setbacks, maintains focus under pressure, and drives solutions forward.
- Microsoft Office Proficiency: Confident in Excel and other Microsoft Office tools for reporting, analysis, and presentation.
