Drive the automation and development of flexibility operations, helping turn complex manual activities into streamlined, repeatable and scalable ways of working.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development of new systems, processes and operational capabilities that support flexibility services across Northern Powergrid. Working with teams across Operations, Engineering, Smart Grid and IT, you'll help improve how we manage data, automate processes and deliver solutions that support a smarter, more flexible electricity network.
You'll be responsible for:
- Leading the development and implementation of new flexibility operational systems.
- Driving automation and process improvement across flexibility operations.
- Managing operational data, systems integrations and third-party data exchanges.
- Leading projects and system implementations from design through to BAU operation.
- Developing processes, procedures and governance to support new capabilities.
- Representing Northern Powergrid with industry groups and external partners including NESO, Ofgem and Elexon.

About You
We're interested in hearing from people who have experience improving processes, implementing systems and delivering business change.
You may currently be working as a:
- Business Systems Manager
- Automation Manager
- Systems Implementation Manager
- Technical Programme Manager
- Process Improvement Manager
- Integration Manager
- Digital Transformation Manager
- Operational Excellence Manager
You'll Ideally Have
- Experience delivering system implementations, upgrades or business change projects.
- Knowledge of automation tools such as Python, SQL, APIs, VBA or Power Automate.
- Experience working with data, reporting and system integrations.
- Strong project delivery and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to identify problems, develop solutions and see them through to implementation.
- Confidence working across operational, engineering and technology teams.

Desirable
- Understanding of flexibility services or electricity networks.
- Experience working in a regulated industry.
- Knowledge of Active Network Management or wider energy systems.
