Pay Rate or Salary: 250 PAYE - 350 Umbrella

Job ID: 2152

Overview

We're recruiting an Operational Development Engineer (Periodic Testing) to support the delivery of operational documentation and strategy for a Periodic Testing Programme on a major, highly regulated UK energy infrastructure project.

Working within a pre-operations environment, you'll help shape the processes and instructions needed to deliver periodic testing in an operational station, including reviewing and analysing designer technical documentation (e.g., drawings, specifications, and test instructions) and collaborating with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct technical analysis of plant components and equipment.
  • Review and analyse technical documentation, including technical drawings, specifications, and testing instructions.
  • Support development of surveillance programme requirements for the operational station.
  • Carry out scheduling activities for outputs of the periodic testing surveillance programme.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with technical and functional stakeholders across the wider organisation.
  • Research and apply relevant operating experience from other industries to drive best practice and performance improvement.
  • Contribute to the development of processes, procedures, and operational instructions to enable safe, efficient delivery of periodic testing.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
