Location: Cheltenham (London office attendance may be required on a periodic basis)

The Role

The Operational Governance Senior Analyst will support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the organisation's Operational Resilience framework, ensuring compliance with UK regulatory expectations (FCA/PRA) and Lloyd's market requirements, alongside supporting the outsourcing and third-party risk management framework across all critical third parties, in line with SS2/21.

The role will contribute to embedding resilience and robust third-party governance across important business services, third-party dependencies, and operational processes, ensuring the business can prevent, respond to, and recover from disruptions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support implementation and ongoing enhancement of the Operational Resilience framework in line with UK regulatory requirements and Lloyd's Principles.
  • Assist in identifying and maintaining mapping of Important Business Services and key dependencies, including third parties, to ensure accuracy as the business evolves.
  • Support key activities within the Operational Resilience cycle, including tracking of vulnerabilities / remedial actions and scenario testing across critical business functions.
  • Maintain documentation and evidence to demonstrate regulatory compliance.
  • Contribute to regulatory responses (FCA/PRA/Lloyd's) and audit activity.
  • Maintenance of Operational Resilience framework and supporting documentation, including policies, logs and supporting production of the annual self-assessment.
  • Support the Operational Resilience Steering Group, including preparation of papers and packs for review.
  • Assist with onboarding of syndicates including review of target operating model and set up of third-party arrangements.
  • Support the ongoing management of the outsourcing and third-party risk management framework, covering all critical third parties.
  • Track and follow up on ongoing monitoring activity – including performance/SLA review, financial and operational resilience checks on providers, and renewal of due diligence.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Experience in operational risk, business continuity, operational resilience, or third-party risk management within insurance or financial services.
  • Understanding of UK regulatory requirements (FCA/PRA Operational Resilience framework, SS1/21) and outsourcing/third-party risk requirements (SS2/21) would be beneficial.
  • Experience supporting framework implementation and governance processes.
  • Experience in process mapping and documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
