Job Description

The Operational Projects & Improvement Officer will lead, coordinate and deliver projects, change initiatives and business improvement activities across Eurofins Alba. Working closely with Department Heads, Technical Operations Managers and support functions, the role will act as a dedicated project and operational resource responsible for coordinating stakeholders, managing deliverables and ensuring projects and business priorities are successfully completed.

This is a hybrid part time role working 21 hours over three days a week, over Monday and Friday between 09:00 and 17:00.

  • Conduct research, investigations and feasibility assessments to support customer enquiries, projects and business opportunities, including the evaluation of equipment capabilities, methodologies, suppliers and resource requirements. Support the preparation of study outlines, study designs, technical proposals and associated documentation for operational, commercial and documentation teams.
  • Coordinate the sourcing, onboarding and activities of consultants, suppliers and external partners engaged in projects and business initiatives, acting as a key point of contact throughout delivery.
  • Research emerging technologies, industry trends and best practices, identifying opportunities to enhance project delivery, operational effectiveness, service offerings and business performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, quality, compliance, customer experience and business performance, supporting the implementation of practical solutions, process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead, coordinate and deliver business projects, change initiatives and operational improvement activities across all departments.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, implementation schedules, action trackers and reports, ensuring agreed milestones, actions, deliverables and deadlines are achieved.
  • Work closely with Operational Managers, Technical Operations Managers, Department Heads and stakeholders to ensure projects, systems and initiatives are successfully implemented, embedded and delivered, providing additional project coordination and delivery support where required.
  • Support the delivery of clinical studies, customer programmes and business initiatives through the coordination of activities, documentation, tracking of actions and deliverables, research activities and operational support as required.
  • Support the Data and Documentation Team through the authoring, review, quality checking and maintenance of technical, scientific, quality and operational documentation, including support for study, project and customer-related deliverables.
  • Develop, maintain and improve business processes, templates, forms, reports, project documentation and controlled records, ensuring consistency and effective governance across departments.
  • Undertake any other duties commensurate with the level and responsibility of the role as reasonably required by management.

Qualifications

  • HNC/HND, relevant vocational qualification, or equivalent experience in a project coordination, operations, business support or improvement role.
  • Experience coordinating projects, business initiatives and operational activities, ensuring actions, milestones, deliverables and deadlines are effectively managed and achieved.
  • A broad understanding of business operations, business processes, governance frameworks and how departments work collaboratively to achieve organisational objectives.
  • Strong documentation, report writing and record management skills, with experience developing, maintaining, reviewing and quality checking business documentation for accuracy, consistency and compliance.
  • Good understanding of quality, compliance and operational requirements, with the ability to monitor adherence to procedures and support continuous improvement activities.
  • Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather, evaluate and present information from multiple sources to support business decisions and identify practical solutions.
  • Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently, take ownership of responsibilities and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and have the ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
