Operational Resilience & Vendor Management Specialist – Manchester

About the Role
We are seeking an Operational Resilience & Vendor Management Specialist to join our team in our Manchester office with full-time, hybrid working (2-3 days per week). This role will involve overseeing, managing, and evolving Operational Resilience and Third-Party Vendor Management, deputising for the Operational Resilience Manager and Third Party Vendor Manager across vital first-line defence topics, including:
- Business continuity management
- Operational resilience
- Third-party vendor management
- Outsourcing oversight
- Emergency management
The Specialist will ensure effective operational delivery, regulatory compliance, and third-party due diligence while championing continuous improvement in these areas.
Key focus areas include:
- Operational resilience & third-party vendor management reporting
- Regulatory compliance
- Incident reporting, policy reviews, and regulatory awareness
- Horizon scanning for emerging regulatory trends
Responsibilities
Operational & Vendor Management Oversight
- Draft incident summaries, root cause analyses, lessons learned, and remediation plans
- Track actions, vulnerabilities, and escalations for governance forums
- Lead Business Continuity Planning (BCP) aligned with Operational Resilience frameworks
- Conduct impact analyses and identify critical business services

Incident & Risk Management
- Develope and maintain the incident reporting process in compliance with PRA/FCA regulations (PRA SS1/26)
- Assess operational resilience impacts, tolerances, and time-critical activities
- Evaluate third-party resilience by assessing vendors’ capabilities and embedding contractual obligations
Governance & Policy Development
- Manage SLA performance, KPIs, and vendor compliance monitoring
- Handle onboarding, lifecycle management, and contract reviews for third-party vendors
- Maintain inventory systems for third-party arrangements
- Support regulatory assessments and submission preparation
- Annual reviews and updates to plans
Documentation & Regulatory Compliance
- Draft, review, and maintain policies, frameworks, and procedures, including:
- Operational Resilience Policy
- Business Continuity Plan
- Wind Down Plans
- Third-Party Risk Policies
- Ensure alignment with Munich Re frameworks and regulatory requirements (FCA, PRA, Lloyd’s)
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders on regulatory matters
- Monitor regulatory developments (FCA, PRA, Lloyd’s) and conduct impact assessments
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management and boards
Requirements & Qualifications
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven expertise in Operational Resilience or Third-Party Vendor/Risk Management in a regulated environment
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks for Operational Resilience, Outsourcing, Vendor Management, and Business Continuity (Lloyd’s, FCA, PRA)
- Preference for experience in the insurance industry with familiarity with regulatory standards
- Exceptional report writing skills, including reports, policies, and presentations for senior reviews
- Ability to question, challenge, and support the business collaboratively
- Experience driving pragmatic solutions and building inclusive relationships in a multifunctional international environment
