Play a key role in shaping how operational risk is understood, managed and strengthened across a global organisation.

Joining the Risk Management Group, you will help drive a strong risk culture, provide independent insight and influence strategic decision-making across Macquarie Capital, working with senior stakeholders across multiple regions and legal entities.

We are a global financial services group operating in 30 markets with 57 years of unbroken profitability. At Macquarie, you’re empowered to shape a career that is fulfilling and creates value. You will bring your insights and expertise to the task at hand and feel supported as you make your own kind of impact for a better future.

What role will you play?

You will act as a trusted adviser and independent risk partner to Macquarie Capital, providing oversight, challenge and insight to support effective operational risk management across EMEA while partnering with colleagues globally to promote consistent risk practices. Working closely with senior business leaders, legal entity representatives and governance forums, you will help identify emerging risks, enhance risk frameworks and support informed decision-making that protects the organisation and enables sustainable growth. Reporting to the Head of Macquarie Capital Operational Risk, you will also lead and develop a team across EMEA and the Americas, fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment and ensuring resources, capability and expertise continue to evolve alongside business needs.

What You Offer

  • Significant experience within financial services gained in business, risk, audit or support functions, with a strong understanding of operational risk management principles and practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide independent challenge, analyse complex information and form balanced risk-based recommendations that support effective decision-making.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to influence, advise and engage senior leaders, regulators and governance committees.
  • Experience leading, developing and supporting high-performing teams within a global or matrixed environment, while driving collaboration and accountability.
  • Degree qualification in Finance or a related discipline; professional qualifications such as CA, CFA, CPA or FRM are advantageous.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
