Impact & Responsibilities

Framework & Governance Management

  • Own and enhance Shieldpay’s risk and control framework.
  • Facilitate Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) across teams.
  • Implement mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee control testing.
  • Manage risk appetite boundaries.

Regulatory & Statutory Compliance

  • Lead payment-sector compliance initiatives.
  • Keep the business aligned with current and emerging FCA regulations.
  • Oversee timely regulatory reporting to the FCA.
  • Ensure the compliance framework is embedded firm-wide.

Operational Resilience

  • Support the strategy, development, and execution of the Operational Resilience Framework.
  • Shield customers from intolerable harm.

Monitoring & Assurance

  • Execute the 2LOD Compliance Monitoring Plan.
  • Conduct in-depth thematic reviews.
  • Ongoing quality assurance across operational risk and compliance domains.

Data-Driven Reporting

  • Translate complex risk data into clear, concise governance reports.
  • Provide actionable insights to management, C-suite, and the Board on key risk profiles, themes, and trends.

Cross-Functional Advisory

  • Partner with product and engineering teams.
  • Advise on regulatory requirements for new products.
  • Ensure continuous delivery of positive customer outcomes.

Training & Enablement

  • Lead the regulatory compliance training framework.
  • Keep employees informed, up-skilled, and aligned with industry best practices.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven ability to transform complex datasets into clear, high-impact governance reports.
  • Deep knowledge of FCA operational resilience and non-financial risk frameworks within the payments sector.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Track record of articulating technical compliance mandates to stakeholders at all levels, including C-suite and Board members.
  • Highly autonomous operator who thrives driving concurrent, multi-track risk and compliance projects to completion.
