Job Description
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for an Operational Risk Manager to support our wealth management business, helping to strengthen the control environment across the business through effective oversight of risk assessments, risk events, operational risk reporting and scenario analysis.

The base
We moved into our new HQ in the City of London in 2018. We’re close to our clients, in the heart of the UK’s financial centre and we have everything we need to work flexibly.
What You'll Do
- Manage, review and challenge risk assessments across the business, including Risk and Control Assessments (RCAs), new client assessments and change assessments
- Facilitate the investigation of risk events, including the escalation of significant events to senior management as required
- Develop operational risk scenarios and support the estimation of the Group’s operational risk capital requirement, including contributions to the ICAAP/ICARA processes
- Analyse and report operational risk management information (MI)—including RCAs, risk events and issues—for senior governance forums such as the Group Risk Committee, Board Audit & Risk Committee and entity Boards
- Enhance and streamline reporting processes, improving efficiency, accuracy and control
- Collate and co-ordinate responses to RFPs and client queries, including producing presentation materials for client meetings
- Present to clients on the Group’s operational risk framework, as required
- Conduct thematic or targeted reviews to address emerging risks, issues or areas of focus
- Oversee and manage the operational risk system and train/support business users to ensure effective adoption and data quality

The Knowledge, Experience And Qualifications You Need
- Experience in wealth management or asset management, and/or risk management
- A proactive, delivery-focused approach
- Strong written communication and attention to detail, with the ability to produce clear, accurate risk reporting tailored to the audience
- Effective organisation and time management skills, able to manage competing priorities
- Strong systems aptitude - quick to learn new tools and confident explaining functionality to others
- Analytical mindset with sound problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with a collaborative, team-oriented approach
- Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential or sensitive matters
- Advanced working knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Power BI

The Knowledge, Experience And Qualifications That’ll Help
- Experience in assurance and/or audit (internal or external)
- An asset management qualification, such as the IMC and/or CFA (or working towards)
- Familiarity with operational risk systems (e.g., GRC tooling)
- Experience supporting ICAAP and/or ICARA processes
