A leading financial services organisation is seeking an Operational Risk Management Senior Specialist to join its growing Risk Oversight function. This is an excellent opportunity to join a business that places risk management, governance and customer outcomes at the heart of its operations.
Working within a collaborative and highly visible risk team, you will play a key role in strengthening the organisation's operational risk framework, providing independent oversight and challenge across multiple business areas while supporting the delivery of regulatory and consumer-focused objectives.
Your new role
As an Operational Risk Management Senior Specialist, you will operate within the Second Line of Defence, providing oversight and challenge to ensure operational risks are effectively identified, assessed and managed across the business.
You will lead reviews of Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs), perform independent testing of key controls, oversee incident management activities and provide meaningful risk reporting to senior stakeholders and governance committees. In addition, you will play an important role in overseeing AML and Fraud risks, reviewing risk assessments, controls, management information and remediation plans to ensure the business remains within risk appetite.

This is a varied position that will see you working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, influencing risk culture, improving control environments and supporting the ongoing development of risk frameworks and governance processes.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience within Operational Risk, Risk Management, Internal Controls or a similar governance-focused environment within financial services.
You will demonstrate strong knowledge of operational risk frameworks, risk assessments, control testing and incident management, alongside the confidence to provide effective challenge to senior stakeholders. Experience of AML, Fraud or Financial Crime oversight would be highly advantageous, as would exposure to working within a Second Line of Defence environment.
Strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities and the capability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced regulated environment are essential.
