About the Role
As the Ceded Re Operations Specialist, the successful candidate will be the strategic and technical engine behind the business's reinsurance operations and ceded platform. The business is a modern, high-growth specialty insurance platform dedicated to bringing technical excellence and operational agility to the international insurance marketplace.
Reporting directly to a US-based Line Manager while benefiting from full daily support from the established UK team, this role requires a true self-starter who can work independently and excel in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.

This is a high-visibility position focused on managing and optimizing the end-to-end Ceded Re reinsurance process. The successful candidate will oversee treaty and facultative reinsurance administration, premium/claim bordereaux processing, financial reconciliation, and reinsurance asset recovery. It’s an ideal step for an ambitious reinsurance operations professional looking for direct ownership and high-level exposure in a rapidly expanding business.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the day-to-day administration of ceded reinsurance treaties and facultative placements across all core business lines.
- Manage the accurate preparation, processing, and reconciliation of reinsurance premium and claims bordereaux.
- Oversee ceded claims recoveries, tracking aged balances, resolving disputes, and ensuring prompt collection from reinsurers.
- Work closely with US leadership and UK operational, underwriting, and finance teams to streamline reinsurance reporting.
- Identify operational bottlenecks, automate reporting workflows, and enhance control frameworks across the Ceded Re suite.

Skills & Competencies
- Solid understanding of Ceded Re operations, treaty and facultative structure, and reinsurance accounting principles.
- High level of self-motivation, comfortable operating with a remote line manager and navigating a agile scale-up setting.
- Exceptional attention to detail when working with complex financial datasets, ledger balances, and reinsurance contracts.
- Strong communication skills to build seamless relationships across both UK and US business units.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience within reinsurance operations, Ceded Re administration, or reinsurance accounting within an insurer, MGA, or broker.
- Demonstrated track record of working independently or within a fast-moving start-up / scale-up environment.
- Deep knowledge of London Market and international reinsurance processing practices.
- Proficiency with modern insurance platforms, ledger software, and advanced Excel modeling.

- Up to £65,000 base + 10% bonus
- London (Hybrid working pattern).
