Operational Support Specialist
Are you an experienced warehouse operations leader who thrives on solving problems, driving performance, and supporting sites to succeed?
This role provides operational leadership and hands-on support across our UK warehousing network. Working closely with site leadership teams, projects, and senior operational stakeholders, you'll help deliver operational excellence, support customer implementations, improve performance, and drive continuous improvement.
You'll be a trusted operational expert, sharing best practice, developing leaders, and ensuring our standards of safety, service, quality, and productivity are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Support
- Support sites across the UK network to achieve operational and customer objectives.
- Provide hands-on leadership to resolve operational challenges.
- Identify improvement opportunities and implement sustainable solutions.
- Drive productivity, service, quality, and efficiency improvements.
- Share best practice and promote operational consistency.
Implementations & Start-Ups
- Support new customer implementations and warehouse start-ups.
- Assist with mobilisation, go-live, and stabilisation activities.
- Work with operational and project teams to ensure successful launches.
- Embed operational standards and best practice from day one.

Operational Excellence
- Champion continuous improvement across the network.
- Support productivity, inventory, quality, and service initiatives.
- Conduct operational reviews and identify performance opportunities.
- Support Lean and Operational Excellence programmes.
Leadership & Coaching
- Coach and develop operational managers, supervisors, and team leaders.
- Support leadership teams through change and growth.
- Drive accountability, engagement, and high performance.
- Act as a role model for company values and behaviours.
Projects & Transformation
- Support operational projects, process improvements, and business change.
- Contribute to warehouse redesigns, automation, and customer transitions.
- Work with Operations, IT, HR, Finance, and Commercial teams to deliver successful outcomes.
Safety, Compliance & Quality
- Promote safe working practices and operational compliance.
- Support audits and customer requirements.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, inventory accuracy, and operational discipline.
- Reduce operational risk and improve customer satisfaction.
About You
- Significant Operations Manager or Senior Operations Manager experience within a 3PL warehousing environment.
- Strong understanding of warehousing operations, KPIs, labour management, inventory control, and customer service.
- Proven track record of operational improvement and performance delivery.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership skills.
- Strong coaching and stakeholder management capability.
- Experience of customer implementations, start-ups, or multi-site operations is desirable.
- Lean, Six Sigma, CI, WMS, or automation knowledge would be advantageous.
- Flexibility to travel extensively across the UK.
