About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to lead and shape the future of Diageo’s Manufacturing Operational Technology (OT) landscape. As part of the local Engineering Team, you will be responsible for leading OT systems at the site level, which include SCADA process control systems, networks, PLCs, and HMIs.
Collaborating closely with the Global Engineering Team, you will take ownership of the OT strategy and play a key role in driving digitalization, automation, and security advancements across our operations.
The Maturation function is currently undergoing a transformation journey toward digitalization and automation. You will work closely with engineering and operations colleagues, playing a crucial role in crafting and delivering this transformation. As a key figure in the team, you will help advance the strategy for Maturation, improving processes and production through innovative OT solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of the OT strategy at the site level, aligned with Diageo’s global strategy.
- Drive the digitalization and automation agenda for site operations.
- Oversee Management of Change processes within OT systems.
- Handle Industrial Data Models and support capital projects.
- Lead Cyber Security Lifecycle Management following IEC 62443 standards.
- Oversee third-party support contracts and secure remote access.
- Provide continuous threat detection and incident response technical support.
- Ensure the integrity of OT Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans.
- Collaborate with site management teams on OT standard processes.
- Support the integration of SMART Factory Industry 4.0 initiatives.

You will work with groundbreaking technology, face evolving cyber-threats, and help lead the transformation of the Maturation function into a digital-first, automated production environment. Building and maintaining strong links with partners will be crucial to your success.
About You
We are looking for an expert leader who is passionate about operational technology and is ready to drive impactful change. You are a brilliant communicator, pragmatic, and structured in your approach, with the responsibility and drive to take ownership of complex OT systems. You’re a leader who can influence positive change at the site level, while navigating both technical challenges and stakeholder management.
Key Skills and Experience
- Process Control Systems Engineering and Automation expertise.
- Proficiency in SCADA, PLC, HMI, and Industrial Networks.
- Experience in Industry 4.0 and IIOT technologies.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, ideally in food and beverage.
- Familiarity with Engineering Hazard and Risk Identification.
- Experience with Cyber Security methodologies (IEC 62443) and Engineering Safety Systems (IEC 61508).
- Strong understanding of IT/OT Networking.
