Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented finance professional to join the Group Tax team as our Operational Transfer Pricing Manager. This is a hands-on role focused on accurately applying the Group's transfer pricing policies to IFS's financial data — including owning the TP calculation templates and ensuring the methodology is applied accurately and consistently. While the Transfer Pricing Director retains end-to-end ownership and reviews outputs at a director level, the OTP Manager is expected to be the person who truly understands the underlying accounting — the person the TP Director relies on to ensure the numbers are right before they are reviewed, and to flag proactively where business or accounting changes may affect the calculations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

A critical part of the role is therefore developing and maintaining deep knowledge of how IFS's finance function operates: specifically, how the Record-to-Report team book transactions across ledgers, and how FP&A structure and use cost centres across the business. These are the primary data inputs for IFS's transfer pricing calculations, and the person in this role will be the bridge between the TP team and the wider finance organisation. The role sits at the intersection of finance operations, ERP systems, and tax, and involves close collaboration with local finance teams, FP&A, the Transfer Pricing team, and IT.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Perform periodic (monthly, quarterly, year-end, post year end true up) transfer pricing calculations and intercompany charges, ensuring that charging mechanisms reflect Group policies, and reconciling data;
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of IFS’s cost centre and legal entity structures, and monitor business changes that could affect the reliability of underlying financial data for TP purposes;
  • Proactively identify dependencies, or changes required to finance processes that could improve transfer pricing processes;
  • Coordinate with the billing team to ensure intercompany invoices accurately reflect the approved calculations;
  • Support month-end and year-end close, including intercompany reconciliations and ensuring integrity of intercompany data within the chart of accounts and cost centre structures;
  • Own the TP calculation templates and methodology application, ensuring calculations correctly reflect Group policies; identify and resolve anomalies and data quality issues, working with Finance and escalating to the Transfer Pricing Director where policy interpretation is required;
  • Contribute to process improvement, automation, and data quality initiatives within the TP operations function.
  • Support the Transfer Pricing Director on policy implementation, system improvements, data for TP documentation and other TP initiatives as the function develops.
