Description

Part Time / 25 Hours Per Week / Term Time / Permanent and Fixed Term for 12 months

Join us to play a key role in ensuring children and vulnerable adults' wellbeing is at the heart of the work we do. We have 6 roles available, 5 on a permanent basis and 1 on a fixed term basis for 1 year covering absence.

As a driver, your day begins at the depot where you are assigned your route and vehicle. Carrying out daily and weekly routine and safety checks, including fire precautions, you'll check your vehicle is in a fit and serviceable condition. You'll collect vulnerable passengers who have special needs and transport them between home & school, day centres & other establishments. You'll ensure their personal wellbeing in a safe & appropriate manner - making their daily journey a comfortable one.

Being flexible in your approach, you'll show a sensitivity towards the needs of vulnerable people. Having a caring attitude, you'll effectively communicate with service users, family members, school staff and passenger assistants to ensure not only the safety of your passengers but that they receive a high level of customer satisfaction.

Appointment is subject to an Enhanced DBS check and Full Diving Licence with D1 category. You'll be prepared to undertake DCPC.

You'll work from Monday to Friday 07.30 - 10.30 and 14.30 - 16.30 to complete both pickups and drop offs. This is term time only, 38 weeks a year. Based at Sulgrave Road, you'll drive across the city.
