Help drive operational performance through financial insight
Role Overview
We're looking for an Operations Accountant to join our site leadership team and play a key role in supporting business performance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional who enjoys combining strong financial control with commercial insight and business partnering. Working closely with operational leaders, you'll provide timely and accurate reporting, identify opportunities for improvement, and help drive informed decision-making across the site.
As a trusted partner to both site and finance leadership teams, you'll support the delivery of operational and financial objectives through meaningful analysis, robust controls and continuous improvement initiatives.
This role is based onsite 5 days a week at our Fraserburgh location.
Key Duties
You will:
- Deliver accurate and timely monthly financial reporting in line with Group requirements and deadlines.
- Partner with operational teams to provide financial insight and performance analysis that supports decision-making.
- Lead reporting and analysis of key operational metrics, including labour, yield, cost performance and site KPIs.
- Maintain strong financial controls and ensure balance sheet integrity, compliance and audit readiness.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
- Monitor working capital, stock and cost performance, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Prepare and evaluate business cases to support capital investment decisions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across reporting, processes and site performance.
- Support the development and implementation of new reporting tools and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with site leadership to identify opportunities for efficiency and operational improvement.
- Provide coaching and support to finance team members where appropriate.

Ideal Candidate
We're looking for a commercially minded finance professional who can translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights.
You'll have:
- A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within food production.
- Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience.
- An understanding of operational processes, systems and performance metrics.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with financial and operational data.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive approach and a passion for continuous improvement.
