Operations Administrator
Manchester | £25,000 - £28,000 | Hybrid working: 4 days office, 1 day from home
MFK Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting an Operations Administrator for a highly respected organisation based in Manchester.
We have recruited 7 people into the organisation over the past three and a half years, and all seven are still there. That speaks volumes about the culture, leadership, stability, and quality of the working environment.
This is a great opportunity for someone with administration, operations, or logistics experience who wants to join a supportive and well-established organisation where their work genuinely has an impact.
The Role
As Operations Administrator, you will provide administrative and operational support across a wide range of activities.
A key part of the role will involve supporting the planning and delivery of sample distributions to laboratories internationally, so previous logistics, shipping, or distribution experience would be particularly useful.
You will also support customers, manage administrative systems, coordinate meetings and events, maintain accurate records, and assist with quality management activities. There will be a one-month handover period with the current postholder to help you settle into the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning and coordination of sample distributions to laboratories worldwide
- Organise shipping, packing, and courier arrangements
- Communicate with customers, suppliers, agents, and other external stakeholders
- Monitor customer support tickets and respond to or delegate queries appropriately
- Maintain customer accounts, registrations, and participation records
- Manage and maintain accurate operational data and documentation
- Produce documentation including certificates, labels, and distribution materials
- Assist with organising meetings, events, venues, and travel
- Liaise with suppliers and raise purchase orders where required
- Support stock control and general office operations
- Assist with sample packing and data loading
- Support document control, audits, and non-conformance activities within the Quality Management System
- Take accurate meeting minutes when required
- Help improve administrative processes and systems
- Manage your own workload and priorities while working closely with the Operations Manager
- Occasionally provide organisational support at meetings and events, including some international travel

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
