Operations Administrator

The Shellfish Association of Great Britain (SAGB) are looking for an Operations Administrator who is highly organised, confident at communicating with a wide range of people, able to manage multiple priorities, and comfortable working independently and with the SAGB team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting the SAGB and its work across the UK seafood supply chain.

Company description

The Shellfish Association of Great Britain is the trade body for the UK shellfish industry. Its diverse membership includes shellfish farmers, fishers, processors, traders, restaurants, regulators, academics, scientists, consultants, and shellfish enthusiasts. Established in 1903 and renamed in 1969, SAGB now supports the sector across the full supply chain, from harvest to sale. The association provides representation, guidance, promotion, industry information, and practical support such as mentoring and a variety of membership benefits.

Key responsibilities:

  • General administration including: internal & external communications, invoicing, managing memberships, and minuting meetings.
  • Facilitating Fishery Improvement Project: Supporting the UK Nephrops FIP project manager and fisheries expert with admin, press releases, and other technical work
  • Leading on funded projects, including: applying to funding streams (e.g. FaSS), documenting expenditures for claims, project reporting

Details:

  • Home based role with occasional travel to major UK cities, as required (travel costs covered)
  • Competitive salary, 40 hours a week, 28 days pa holiday, pension etc
