Salary: £15,500 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week, with occasional evening and weekend work required

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join Hampshire FA as an Operations Administrator Apprentice. This role is ideal for someone looking to begin their career in business administration while gaining valuable experience within a professional sporting organisation.

Working alongside the Football Operations Team, you will provide administrative support across a wide range of activities, helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of grassroots football across Hampshire. You will support County Cup competitions, player registrations, club affiliations, referee administration and safeguarding processes, while developing your skills through a recognised apprenticeship programme.

Key Responsibilities

As an Operations Administrator Apprentice, you will provide excellent customer service to clubs, leagues, referees and football stakeholders while supporting the administration of Hampshire FA's football operations.

  • Assist with County Cup competitions and finals
  • Support player registration enquiries
  • Maintain accurate records on The FA's Platform for Football
  • Help with club affiliation and membership processes
  • Support safeguarding administration
  • Assist with referee course bookings and venue coordination
  • Maintain football administration systems and records
  • Process invoicing and finance-related administration
  • Promote the use of FA technology platforms across the grassroots game

Alongside your day-to-day responsibilities, you will undertake apprenticeship training and apply your learning within the workplace.

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will be highly organised, possess strong communication skills and have a genuine desire to learn and develop. You will be comfortable managing multiple tasks, maintaining confidentiality and working both independently and as part of a team. You should have good IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook, along with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.

Essential qualifications:

  • GCSE English (grade 4)
  • GCSE Maths (grade 4)

An interest in football and experience in administration, customer service or a volunteer role would be advantageous but are not essential. Hampshire FA will provide support, training and development to help you succeed in the role.
