Job Description

The successful incumbent will provide clear and accurate communication between internal departments, suppliers, and customers which will ensure the efficient flow of product to satisfy changing customer requirements. Working with suppliers to ensure they perform to agreed performance levels and following up exceptions and queries in a timely manner. You will be working as part of a customer service driven team, therefore being precise, supportive and a good team player are key attributes.

About the Role

  • Working within the Operations Department, Monday to Friday, 06:00 to 15:30, reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager.
  • Collaborating closely with Purchasing, Sales, Logistics, and other key departments to ensure smooth operational performance.
  • Coordinating supplier deliveries to align with customer demand and business requirements.
  • Managing the efficient and effective utilisation of off-site storage facilities.
  • Playing a key role in maintaining clear and timely communication on the progress of inbound and outbound routes, while supporting daily OTIF (On Time In Full) performance across the depot.
  • Operating a range of reporting tools and systems to provide accurate, timely, and insightful business data.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, service levels, and overall warehouse performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement improved administrative processes and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collect, analyse, and distribute relevant information and data accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Prioritise, organise, and coordinate workloads to meet business and operational requirements.
  • Provide accurate advice and support, ensuring timely resolution of queries and issues.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels of the organisation.
  • Act as a key liaison between managers and drivers, while collaborating with other departments to optimise transport and distribution services.
  • Work closely with customers, suppliers, and drivers to plan routes and schedule deliveries, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of operations.
  • Handle customer enquiries professionally, escalating complex issues or serious complaints to management when required.
  • Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations, company policies, and operational procedures.
  • Provide flexible support across day-to-day departmental activities, covering additional responsibilities and operational areas as required.
