The Operations Analyst

The Operations Analyst is a brand new role at a fast-growing financial services firm that supports investment banks, asset managers, hedge funds, and private banks trade electronically.

You'll support the effective execution of Operational Governance, Client Due Diligence, and Compliance activities, ensuring operational information is accurate, governance processes run efficiently, regulatory obligations are supported, and internal stakeholders receive timely and reliable operational support. This could suit someone who has worked in a relevant PMO / Project Management Office role.

They're headquartered in London, but Newcastle is where the growth is happening right now, a hub of around 20 people across development, finance, and support, and this role sits right in the middle of it.

They're scaling fast and the operational governance, compliance, and client due diligence work that used to sit with one person now genuinely needs someone to own it properly. That's you.

In return, you get real breadth, governance, compliance, client due diligence, and vendor management all in one seat, direct exposure to senior leadership and the Board, and a proper 90-day plan that hands you full ownership of the role by month three rather than keeping you doing the boring bits forever.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
