Location: Rainham, Essex
Contract Type: Part-Time, Permanent (4 days a week, 10am - 4pm)
Salary: £37,000–£40,000 FTE, depending on experience, pro rata for 20 hours per week.
About Tailored Futures CIC
Tailored Futures CIC supports people with lived experience of the criminal justice system to rebuild their lives and successfully reintegrate into society. We provide practical support across employment, education, training, housing, and personal development, working closely with probation services, prisons, employers, and community partners.
Our digital platform, ReintegrateME, connects people with criminal records to inclusive employers, training providers, and support services. It is designed to remove employment barriers and promote fair opportunities in the job market.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Operations and Business Manager to take responsibility for the effective day-to-day management of our operations, staff, and business functions.
This is a hands-on management role combining people leadership, operational oversight, and business development. You will ensure our services run effectively, staff are well managed and supported, performance and compliance standards are maintained, and our internal systems are strong enough to support continued organisational growth.

Key Responsibilities
- Line manage staff, including supervision, appraisals, performance management, and development.
- Oversee day-to-day service delivery, staffing, workloads, and operational priorities.
- Monitor KPIs, outcomes, data quality, and contractual or funding requirements.
- Maintain effective operational, HR, compliance, and business systems.
- Oversee safeguarding, risk management, health and safety, and relevant organisational policies.
- Support recruitment, induction, training, and workforce development.
- Support budget monitoring, procurement, and effective use of organisational resources.
- Contribute to business planning, service development, and organisational growth.
- Help identify and develop new funding, commissioning, contract, and partnership opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with probation, prisons, local authorities, employers, funders, and community partners.
- Provide clear operational and performance information to senior leadership.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
- Strong experience managing staff and day-to-day operations.
- Experience of supervision, performance management, and developing teams.
- Excellent organisational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience monitoring performance, budgets, contracts, or funded services.
- Confidence managing competing priorities in a growing organisation.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- A practical, accountable, and solution-focused management style.
- Experience within criminal justice, rehabilitation, employability, charity, or community services would be advantageous.
- Experience supporting business development, organisational growth, or commissioned services would also be advantageous.
