About The Role

Operations and Facilities Manager - Tendring District Council

Location: Tendring

Position Type: Permanent, Full Time

Salary: £27,852 up to £37,261 per annum

Closing Date: 17th August 2026

Role Overview

Operations and Facilities Manager, located at the Sunspot (Jaywick workspace)

An exciting new opportunity has arisen within the Sunspot, TDC’s brand new covered market and managed workspace facility in Jaywick Sands.

You will be joining at the very start of the journey and will help to shape a facility that will not only support new and emerging businesses but will also provide a community garden, café, retail units, regular market and events space for tenants, residents, and visitors to enjoy.

Key Responsibilities

As Operations and Facilities Manager, you will have responsibility for the day-to-day running of the building including ensuring the space is functional and appealing, can market and fill empty units, support the businesses who are tenants, and can hire out the meeting rooms, events spaces, and market area.

  • Work with the community, partners, and internal services to provide a facility that is supportive of all who use it.
  • Work core hours with flexibility for events.

Main Purpose of the Role

  • Have responsibility for the management of the Sunspot (Jaywick Work Space), its facilities, and services, and the processes that support the core business operations.
  • Use industry knowledge to actively seek tenants for any available spaces ensuring that the workspace is operating at the best price and that it maintains as near maximum occupancy as possible.
  • Promote economic growth opportunities and provide information, advice, and guidance to tenants who are either start-up enterprises or established businesses.
  • Oversee the safety and maintenance of the workspace, ensuring the building is compliant with all relevant guidance and regulations.
  • Ensure that the workspace and surrounding areas are safe, functional, and appealing.
  • Work with the community to provide a space for people to meet and hold events in a safe, clean, and appealing space.
  • Work with partners to provide services that the businesses and residents can access.
  • Deliver the Council’s priorities in relation to Tendring4Growth.
  • Develop and implement projects that respond to the aims and objectives of the Council’s Corporate Policy as these relate to the economic growth of the district and to securing sustainable development across Tendring’s key settlements.
