About Beyond Procurement
Beyond Procurement is an established UK sustainability and commercial consultancy helping organisations reduce cost, carbon and commercial risk.
We are now entering an important stage of growth. Alongside our consultancy business, we have developed the Beyond Sustainability Hub — a technology-enabled platform designed to provide businesses with free sustainability support, tools, training and commercial opportunities.
We are launching the Hub through local authorities, BIDs, strategic partners, our existing client base and their wider supply chains, with the ambition of developing a scalable platform and commercial ecosystem around it.
We are looking for an experienced, commercially minded operator to work directly alongside the CEO and help turn that ambition into a successful, scalable business.
The Role
This is not a traditional operations or project-management position.
We are looking for someone who combines strategic and commercial thinking with the willingness to roll up their sleeves and personally make things happen.
Initially, a major priority will be taking ownership of the launch and growth of the Beyond Sustainability Hub: working with partners, driving business engagement, measuring what works, improving the proposition and developing a repeatable model that can be scaled across further partners and business communities.
But the opportunity is broader than the Hub.
You will work directly with the CEO across the business: helping prioritise opportunities, turning ideas into executable plans, improving commercial performance, introducing better systems and management disciplines, and progressively reducing the business's dependence on the CEO for day-to-day execution.
We specifically want someone confident enough to question assumptions, challenge decisions and propose better solutions, rather than simply waiting for instructions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What You'll Do
- Take ownership of the initial Hub launches and turn them into a measurable, repeatable growth model.
- Build and manage the journey from awareness and registration through engagement, commercial opportunity and long-term value.
- Work with local authorities, BIDs, clients and strategic partners to ensure agreed commitments actually translate into delivery.
- Identify and develop commercial opportunities arising from the Hub, existing clients, partners and wider networks.
- Turn business priorities and ideas into clear execution plans — and make sure they happen.
- Establish KPIs, dashboards, reporting and management disciplines that provide genuine visibility over performance.
- Coordinate employees, developers, contractors, partners and external specialists.
- Identify bottlenecks, challenge underperformance and resolve problems quickly.
- Improve processes across the business and reduce unnecessary manual administration.
- Use AI, automation, CRM and technology to make the business more efficient, scalable and intelligent.
- Help build systems and processes that reduce dependency on knowledge currently held by the CEO.
- Work directly with the CEO on commercial priorities, growth opportunities and the future development of the business.
- Personally step in and execute when resources are limited — whether that means producing a campaign, analysing data, contacting a partner, fixing a process or getting a project over the line.
About You
We're much more interested in what you have built, improved and delivered than your job title or sector background.
You may have worked in a scale-up, founder-led SME, SaaS or technology business, consultancy, professional services firm, commercial operation or another entrepreneurial environment.
You are likely to be someone who:
- Has significant experience taking ownership of complex business priorities.
- Is commercially minded and naturally thinks about customers, revenue, conversion and growth.
- Can move comfortably between strategy and detailed execution.
- Doesn't require a large team or established infrastructure to get things done.
- Can create structure where very little currently exists.
- Uses data and KPIs to understand what's working and what isn't.
- Is comfortable challenging a founder or senior leader constructively.
- Can communicate credibly with CEOs, senior clients, local authorities and strategic partners.
- Understands customer journeys, CRM and commercial pipelines.
- Is comfortable with technology and actively interested in AI and automation.
- Is numerate, analytical and attentive to accuracy.
- Is comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities.
- Takes responsibility for outcomes rather than simply completing assigned tasks.

Experience in sustainability, procurement, SaaS, membership platforms, partnerships or local government would be useful, but is not essential.
The Opportunity
This is a permanent position, initially three days per week.
The first three months will form the probationary and mobilisation period, during which the immediate priority will be launching and proving our initial Hub programmes and establishing the operating model around them.
For the right person, however, we see considerable potential for the position to develop. As Beyond grows, the role could expand in days, responsibility and seniority, with increasing ownership across operations, commercial performance, systems, people and business growth.
We're therefore interested not only in someone who can do the job we need today, but someone with the capability and ambition to grow with the business.
What Success Looks Like
Within the first 90 days, we would expect you to have taken meaningful ownership away from the CEO, successfully mobilised our initial Hub programmes, established clear performance measures, identified what is and isn't working and begun turning the approach into a repeatable model.
Longer term, success means helping build a business that is more scalable, more commercially disciplined, more systemised and progressively less dependent on its founder.
We are looking for someone who can be given an important objective and:
- Work out how to achieve it, challenge the approach where necessary, build the system around it and make sure it gets done.
