About the Role
Insite Energy is looking for an Operations and Maintenance Systems Owner to take end-to-end ownership of our BigChange platform and wider Operations & Maintenance (O&M) systems.
This is not a traditional software Product Owner role. We're looking for someone who has experience owning and improving business-critical operational systems that support field operations, maintenance, scheduling, compliance, and reporting.
You will be responsible for ensuring our systems continue to meet the needs of the business, identifying opportunities for improvement, configuring and optimising workflows, and working closely with operational teams to solve real-world problems.
Success in this role is not measured by delivering software features. It's measured by improving operational efficiency, data quality, user adoption, and the effectiveness of the systems our teams rely on every day.
Working independently, you'll engage with stakeholders across the business, understand operational challenges, and translate them into practical system improvements that deliver measurable outcomes.
We're looking for someone who enjoys getting hands-on with systems, processes, and data, is naturally curious about how businesses operate, and takes pride in making technology work better for the people who use it.
Location and Working Hours
- Monday to Friday: 09:00 to 17:30
- Office location: Peterborough (PE1 5DD)
- Hybrid: 3-4 days per week in office

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
