London Town Cabins
Clothall Bury, Baldock SG7 6RJ · Full-time · £27,000–£28,000, rising to £30,000 after a successful six-month review
We design and build bespoke garden rooms for homes and schools across London and the South East. We have installed more than 300 since 2018. We are a team of 8, working from our workshop and showroom just outside Baldock. See our work at londontowncabins.co.uk.
We are looking for a curious, organised person who likes to own their work and see it through. You do not need experience in construction or design. We will teach you the software and the process, and give you real responsibility from day one.
What you will do
- Guide clients from "yes" to build. You will finalise the design and specification, issue the first invoice, and make sure every client knows what happens next.
- Prepare and submit planning applications. You will draw site plans and elevations in SketchUp and submit them through the Planning Portal. Then you will see each application through to a decision with the council.
- Hand projects over to the production team. You will work alongside our Projects Coordinator, so the workshop and install team have everything they need.
- Run our health and safety system. That means keeping records, reviews and inspections up to date with support from our advisers. We will fund your IOSH Managing Safely training.
- Improve how we work. You will help us get more out of Monday.com and Quotient, and automate the repetitive parts.
- Look after our website. Keep our WordPress site fresh with new project photos, price lists and page updates, built in Elementor. You will make small improvements over time, and we will train you.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
