Trades Hall is a historic organisation based in Glasgow, dedicated to serving as a hub for events, community activities, weddings and professional gatherings. It is the home of the 14 Incorporated Trades of the City and our charitable giving reached just over 1 Million in the last year.
The Operations Assistant will monitor supplies, support basic administrative tasks such as data entry and record-keeping, and liaise with internal teams and external suppliers to keep activities running smoothly. This position also includes greeting visitors and providing helpful, courteous customer service to event organisers and guests. The role requires consistency, attention to detail, and a practical, hands-on approach to solving operational issues as they arise.

Key Responsibilities
- Setting up of rooms to clients' specification
- Welcoming clients and guests
- Supporting the sales team wherever possible
- Clearing up after events and re-setting for the next day
- Assisting clients with Audio Visual equipment
- Assisting with maintenance duties when required
- Ensuring consistent service standards at all times
- Maintaining computerised records including handover reports
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
- Venue security
Essential
- Excellent communication skills - verbally and written
- Ability to be flexible in the hours you work. Work will involve weekends or late hours up to 2.00am
- Proactive thinker
- IT skills including Office Suite
- Good understanding of laptops, projectors, microphones although training can be provided
- Ability to work at heights - the position will involve replacing bulbs and putting flags up
- Please note that manual handling will be a large part of this role i.e. moving tables between floors, moving chairs and staging

Desirable
- Previous hospitality experience would be preferable but not essential
- SIA Door Steward licence preferred but not essential as training can be provided
Hours of work: Full time - 160 Hours per month. This is a permanent role.
Salary: £25171.00 pa - overtime will be paid
Uniform will be provided
