POSITION SUMMARY
The Operations Assistant – Claims Operations is responsible for supporting the end-to-end processing of claims activities across global portfolios (Bermuda, London, NYC and Zurich).
The role focuses on developing foundational technical knowledge, maintaining data integrity, and supporting the effective operation of claims workflows. The individual works under guidance, escalating issues appropriately and contributing to consistent, high-quality delivery across the team.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Core Processing & Workflow Execution
- Execute day-to-day claims processing activities with accuracy and timeliness
- Review, set up, and triage incoming claim correspondence to appropriate workflows
- Process claims eMessages
- Maintain workflow tools and systems, ensuring data integrity and completeness
- Manage aged/inactive claims activities (diary, follow-ups, closures)
Quality & Control Discipline
- Deliver work in line with defined processes, controls, and quality standards
- Follow established procedures and escalate exceptions or discrepancies
- Support the maintenance of accurate and reliable operational data

- Identify errors, inefficiencies, or process issues within own workload
- Escalate issues to senior members of the team with clear supporting detail
- Apply feedback and learning to reduce repeat errors over time
Management Information (MI) & Operational Support
- Produce routine MI and support reporting requirements
- Ensure data quality supports operational performance tracking
- Assist with administrative and ad hoc team activities
Support Change
- Support onboarding of new tasks, workflows, or processes
- Follow defined procedures when integrating new activities
- Contribute feedback on process clarity and effectiveness

- Collaborate effectively within the team and with key operational stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Previous claims or insurance operations experience preferred, but not essential depending on candidate profile
- Demonstrated experience working in a structured, process-driven environment
- Exposure to administrative, operational, or data-processing roles is advantageous
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and basic data handling
- Ability to accurately process and validate information across systems
- Attention to detail with a focus on data integrity and accuracy
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
- Ability to work under guidance while taking ownership of assigned tasks
- Demonstrates accountability for delivering accurate and timely outputs
- Ability to identify issues or inefficiencies in own work
- Willingness to ask questions, seek feedback, and continuously improve
- Shows curiosity and openness to learning new processes and systems
- Clear and professional communication within a team environment
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and respond to requests
