G MASS are working with a leading Lloyd's Managing Agency to appoint an Operations Assistant into their Syndicate Operations team. The role sits within a busy operational function supporting Underwriters day to day, covering risk entry, data quality checks, and the handling of signing and claims messages.

This is a good opportunity for someone early in their Lloyd's market career to build broad exposure across risk processing, underwriting support, and the wider London Market, while working towards a recognised industry qualification.

Please note this role is based in London.

Responsibilities

  • Enter risk and aggregate data into underwriting systems accurately and within agreed timeframes
  • Carry out quality checks on risk data, flagging and resolving any discrepancies and escalating where needed
  • Handle USM and SCM message processing, chasing down failures or exceptions to keep everything moving within SLA
  • Act as a point of contact for Underwriters, helping transactions run smoothly and queries get resolved quickly
  • Work with Team Leaders to stay on top of SLAs and team targets
  • Flag ideas for improving accuracy and efficiency within existing processes
  • Build relationships across Underwriting and wider Operations, becoming a trusted go-to for day-to-day queries

  • Solid understanding of how Lloyd's syndicates operate and the processes involved
  • Awareness of delegated authority versus open market business, and how they differ operationally and contractually
  • Some exposure to London Market platforms such as PPL or Whitespace
  • A sharp eye for detail and a genuinely high standard of accuracy
  • Well organised, with a track record of juggling deadlines both solo and as part of a team
  • Confident communicator, comfortable liaising with colleagues and external contacts alike
  • Competent across Excel, Word and Outlook
