Company Description
Volter is a London-based climate-tech platform backed by Transition, Seedcamp, and Neptunia Invest. Founded by former leaders from Kry/Livi and McKinsey, they are building the "Octopus Energy for industry"—a modern B2B platform that brings radical transparency and simplicity to commercial renewable energy through automated billing, metering, and portfolio management.
Job Description
As an Operations Associate, you will build and own the operational backbone of this fast-growing climate-tech startup. You’ll manage end-to-end customer onboarding, ensure billing accuracy, and maintain high-quality metering data. Working closely with founders and engineers, you’ll automate repetitive processes to create a scalable platform that accelerates the transition to renewable energy.
Location
London, UK
Why this role is remarkable
- Join a high-growth climate-tech startup at the ground floor, working directly with founders who have previously scaled businesses to multi-billion dollar valuations.
- Backed by top-tier investors including Transition, Seedcamp, and Neptunia Invest, Volter is disrupting the opaque £20bn+ commercial energy market with a tech-first approach.
- Have significant autonomy to design, build, and automate core operational processes rather than just running them, with high growth potential as the company expands.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
