About the Job
Due to Rotary wing expansion, we are seeking an enthusiastic, highly organised, and proactive individual to join our Flight Operations Department here at Farnborough Airport. This exciting opportunity will offer the individual entry into the corporate aviation industry and provide them with key skills as a foundation to their career.
Job Purpose
The Operations Assistant provides support and facilitates in the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of daily business aviation & helicopter flights. This entry-level role provides real-time monitoring and logistical support for private and corporate (helicopters) aircraft. Working out of the business aviation hub at Farnborough, you will operate under the supervision of Senior Controllers to learn the complexities of global flight planning, trip handling, and charter sales for both fixed wing and helicopter operations.

- Flight Monitoring: Track live aircraft movements using flight tracking software to ensure schedule adherence.
- Crew Support: Coordinate crew logistics including hotel bookings, ground transport, and roster updates.
- Ground Handling: Arrange airport slots, ground handling services, and fuelling for international destinations.
- Overflight Permissions: Assist in securing diplomatic clearances, overflight permits, and landing permits.
- Weather & NOTAMs: Monitor meteorological data and Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) to brief flight crews.
- System Updates: Maintain accurate data entries in the company’s Flight Management System.
- Communication: Serve as a central point of contact for crew, clients, and airport authorities.
- Charter Quotations: Produce and facilitate sales advertisements and charter quotes on request to brokers and direct clients.
Work Pattern & Environment
- Environment: Fully office-based at Farnborough.
- Standard Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
- On-Call Duties: Occasional requirement for evening and weekend on-call support. This duty will only be introduced once sufficient experience and autonomy are gained in the role.

Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Previous exposure to an aviation environment and customer service is highly desirable but not mandatory.
- Education: Strong secondary education (GCSEs/A-Levels or equivalent). An aviation-related degree or a flight dispatcher course is a plus.
- Skills: Excellent communication, attention to detail, geographical awareness, and the ability to multitask under pressure.
- IT Literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Office; ability to quickly learn bespoke aviation software.
- Legal: Right to work in the UK and ability to pass a 5-year background check to secure an airside/airport security badge.
