Retail Operations & Compliance Manager
Protyre Autocare is looking for a methodical and meticulous Retail Operations & Compliance Manager. This specialist role will strengthen operational governance across Protyre Autocentres improving consistency, audit readiness, and governance. Working closely with Centre Managers and Area Managers ensuring every site operates safely, compliantly, and efficiently, while enabling front-line teams to focus on exceptional customer experience, commercial delivery and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures in line with ever evolving requirements.
Location: Remote – a base office will be assigned depending on your location
Salary: £45-50K + car or car allowance
Qualification: NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) or working towards
Must have:
- Full UK Driving Licence, held for at least 6 months (age restrictions may apply – points or offences may affect your application).

About the role
Reporting to the Head of Retail Operations, this role provides dedicated expertise in:
- Health & safety compliance: Promoting a strong health and safety culture through visible leadership, safe working practices, and follow-up actions.
- Stock control and accuracy: Deliver a continuous improvement programme to support satisfactory stock audit results and improved stock accuracy.
- Banking query resolution and Invoice discrepancy management: Support banking & invoicing compliance and prompt resolution of invoice discrepancies across centres.
- Warehouse layout & management (including H&S considerations for storing tyres & parts, and the goods in & out process).
- Standard Operating Procedure content: Ensure retail-wide understanding and acknowledgement of evolving Standard Operating Procedures.
- Centre compliance training and support: Promote system excellence through extended induction, training support, and consistent ways of working.
- Support effective management of MOT-related risk, compliance, records, and escalation.
The role aims to deliver specialist focus on compliance and risk management, reducing operational workload on Area Managers, allowing them to concentrate on commercial performance, coaching, and results.

About you:
- Previous multi-site compliance or H&S management experience within the automotive, retail, or similar fast-fit sector.
- Proven experience in health & safety, compliance, audit, or risk management role (ideally within retail, automotive, logistics, or a multi-site environment).
- Excellent auditing, investigation, and report-writing.
- Strong coaching, influencing, and communication skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and drive improvement.
- Strong knowledge of UK health & safety legislation, risk assessment, and audit methodologies.
