Operations Controller

Join Our Team

We are looking for a passionate, organised and people-focused Operations Controller to join our Guernsey depot. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has previous experience working in a public transport control team.

You’ll be self-motivated and enthusiastic to deliver efficient and punctual services of the highest possible standards for our customers. You’ll work well independently and also as part of a team and able to resolve difficult situations in a helpful, friendly and polite manner.

The successful candidate will be a proactive individual with excellent organisational skills, a positive attitude and a genuine passion for learning and development.

What You'll Do

As an Operations Controller, you'll be responsible for coordinating and supporting a wide range of training and development activities, including:

  • Assisting and working closely with the depot contracts manager, Assistant Operations manager, controllers and engineers to enable a smooth operation of the business
  • Updating EP Morris to ensure accurate records are maintained.
  • Building strong relationships with depot management team.
  • Plan drivers schedule and allocate resources effectively.
  • Taking meeting minutes and supporting the wider Operations team as required.
  • CCTV analysis post incident.
  • Driver interviews for post incident, Return to work meetings.
  • Covering driver duties and sickness.
  • Covering vehicle breakdowns and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
  • Covering emergency road closures and diversions.
  • Ensuring all accident reports are filled out.
  • Communicating with customers.
  • Ensuring legal compliance for driving hours.

Full Cat D Licence (PSV licence)

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in an operational or transport environment.
  • Experience in DAS Trapeze driver hours monitoring system.
  • Experience conducting investigations and preparing formal reports.
  • Knowledge of domestic driving hours.
  • Experience in People management and formal process’.
