Operations Coordinator

As an Operations Coordinator, you will manage the end-to-end coordination of international freight shipments, ensuring smooth delivery, accurate documentation, and excellent customer service. The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work with customers, carriers, customs partners, and global stakeholders to maintain efficient and compliant logistics operations.

Our client is a growing international logistics and supply chain business with a strong presence across global markets. With a reputation for delivering high-quality freight solutions and exceptional customer service, they are seeking an Operations Coordinator to join their Windsor-based operations team.

Description

As an Operations Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end coordination of international freight movements, ensuring shipments are delivered efficiently, compliantly, and in line with customer expectations.

Working closely with carriers, overseas partners, customers, and internal stakeholders, you will play a key role in keeping operations running smoothly while maintaining exceptional service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate import and export shipments from origin through to final delivery.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, overseas agents, carriers, and transport providers to ensure seamless shipment execution.
  • Provide accurate and timely updates on shipment status, transit schedules, and any operational challenges.
  • Prepare, review, and process freight and customs documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Work closely with customs partners to facilitate efficient clearance processes.
  • Manage relationships with carriers and service providers to secure capacity and maintain service levels.
  • Verify supplier costs, support invoicing processes, and assist with profitability monitoring.
  • Ensure all activities are completed in line with relevant industry regulations, customs requirements, and company procedures.
  • Resolve operational issues quickly and professionally while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

  • Previous experience within logistics, freight forwarding, supply chain, or transport operations.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to engage with customers and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of customs processes, freight documentation, and international logistics operations.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Experience using logistics or freight management systems.
  • Knowledge of HMRC, IATA, or related industry regulations would be advantageous.
  • Dangerous Goods certification would be beneficial but is not essential.
