Contract Type: Fixed Term

Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team in the Women and Newborn Care group Operational management team. We are looking for a dynamic, team player to join our team to support the day to day operational demands of the care group.
We are a team of four that work closely with our clinical colleagues to ensure the smooth operational delivery of our service. Our day to day work deals with every aspect of the patient pathway, focusing on performance targets, service delivery and operational excellence to provide patient focused care. In this role you will gain significant exposure to all elements of a hospital including theatres, inpatients and outpatients.
As a care group, Women and Newborn deliver essential care from the beginning to the end of life, this role will play a key part in upholding our standards and ensuring patients receive the very best care and experience.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for deputising for the operational managers and access manager as required.
- Be responsible for the smooth running of the patient journey by ensuring that co-ordinated and streamlined administrative processes revolve around the patient and their individual needs.
- To ensure that patient pathways are managed in line with Trust and National reporting standards and that all documentation is maintained in line with information governance principles.
- To support the operational management team with day to day operational issues, including patient flow.
We are looking for someone who can take initiative, deputise, problem solve and work collaboratively.
The successful candidate needs to be able to prioritise and communicate effectively, working flexibly with the team around them and our colleagues throughout the care group and trust to find solutions to relieve operational pressures.
The ideal candidate will be proficient in the use of Microsoft programmes and all trust software including but not exclusive to; e-camis, charts, LUNA, PowerBI.
The successful candidate will need a substantial working knowledge of the 18wk RTT pathway, experience of waiting list management and trust cancer targets.

Qualifications, Knowledge And Experience
Essential criteria
- Educated to degree level or possessing an equivalent level of experience, training, and knowledge
- Competent in use of IT systems. Good level of keyboard skills including relevant software packages (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Previous NHS administration experience. Excellent working knowledge of eCamis system and relevant Trust and NHS procedures
- Ability to analyse and interpret performance report information
- Organisational knowledge of admin procedures and working processes
- Experience in a supervisory role
- Ability to work under own initiative
- Proven ability to work to deadlines, prioritise and multitask
- Able to manage fluctuating demands on the post in calm and logical manner
Desirable criteria
- Courses/further study attended to demonstrate evidence of personal development
- Experience of dealing with non-routine and complex problems, progress chasing, resources and staff allocation
- Awareness of health service policy in relation to Trust access targets.
- Patient Administration System (for example eCamis, LUNA, CHARTS) trained.
- Service Improvement training
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL)
