Do you want to be a valued part of the critical infrastructure that serves communities across Europe and beyond? Are you looking for a position in which you can set direction and help shape our company? If so, then you could be the newest addition to our team as an Operations Coordinator.

Be part of the movement – and play your part

About the role

Working any 5 days from 7 on a variable shift pattern, you’ll support the day-to-day coordination of transport operations. You’ll work closely with customers, drivers, depots, and internal teams to ensure orders are processed efficiently and deliveries are completed on time.

You will be responsible for:

  • Processing customer orders and allocating them to delivery vehicles
  • Preparing daily transport plans and routing vehicles across the UK
  • Coordinating subcontractor transport plans and external partners
  • Communicating with customers and responding to enquiries in a timely manner
  • Liaising with DFDS depots and internal departments to support operations
  • Using customer systems to obtain order requirements and update information
  • Preparing reports and maintaining accurate operational records

About you

You’ll be deadline-driven, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities in a busy operational environment. You’ll have good knowledge of Microsoft Office and ideally some understanding of UK geography. Experience in a transport or logistics environment is beneficial but not essential.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
