About EPX
EPX empowers customers and teams with trusted data and technology to optimise building performance. We are looking for an experienced Operations Delivery Engineer to help deliver our EDGE Industrial platform across commercial and industrial environments.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on, technically varied role responsible for surveying, designing, deploying, testing, commissioning and validating electrical systems, building controls, metering and monitoring solutions. You will work closely with clients, project teams, suppliers and installation partners to ensure systems meet design specifications, operational requirements and EPX quality standards. While the role is primarily focused on our EDGE Industrial service, you may also support other EPX platforms when required.
What You Will Do
- Complete technical site surveys, review drawings and specifications, interrogate existing monitoring and control systems, and determine site-specific installation requirements.
- Develop technical designs and proposals using annotated layouts, photographs, points lists, equipment schedules, wiring schematics and technical specifications.
- Create metering and monitoring strategies and help define how EPX systems will integrate with or enhance existing building infrastructure.
- Support project teams with works package plans, sequencing, risk assessments, method statements, COSHH assessments, permits, isolations and site logistics.
- Provide onsite deployment support, including contractor training and supervision, site inductions, toolbox talks, technical escalation and quality control.
- Commission and validate electrical, gas, water and thermal metering, environmental sensing, automatic controls, BMS monitoring and infrastructure monitoring.
- Undertake functional, performance and reliability testing, investigate deviations from design, and coordinate corrective action with project stakeholders.
- Prepare commissioning records, test reports, as-built documents, metadata, O&M manuals and digital site plans, and support platform configuration and client handover.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, building controls and connectivity issues through onsite and advanced remote technical support.
- Support data analysis, technical reporting and the identification of anomalies, inefficient operation and infrastructure failures.
- Ensure work complies with applicable codes, standards and EPX requirements, including NICEIC, CDM, HSE and ISO frameworks.
- Participate in an out-of-hours remote technical support service when required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
