About the Role
We’re looking to appoint an Operations Director to grow the business within the Northern Powergrid region. The Operations Director will lead the operational delivery of DNO frameworks and projects across Yorkshire, ensuring profitability and customer satisfaction through effective leadership, high-performing teams, and exceptional internal and external stakeholder management.
Key Deliverables:
As the Operations Director, you will take the lead in building and growing our existing business, focusing on Northern Powergrid projects. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will secure and deliver contracts, establish key partnerships, and lead with purpose.
Responsibilities:
- Driving Business Growth: Securing and delivering projects, such as substation asset replacements.
- Strategic Leadership: Creating a regional plan and ensuring successful contract delivery while maximising profitability.
- Collaborating with Stakeholders: Working closely with internal teams and building strong partnerships with Northern Powergrid and the supply chain.
- Building High-Performing Teams: Recruiting and developing a team to support operational delivery and growth.

What We're Looking For:
We're looking for a collaborative and strategic leader with a growth mindset who:
- Has strong connections within Northern Powergrid and understands its workflows, supply chain, and contractual requirements.
- Brings demonstrable experience in running a business or region delivering similar projects.
- Holds a degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent demonstrable experience.
- Holds a valid driving licence and is willing to travel regularly.
- Is driven to create and grow their own business within a structured and supportive environment.
- Has the ambition and drive to build a sustainable, high-performing regional operation.
