The Opportunity

Help Transform Lives Through Employment

The Recruitment Junction is one of the UK's leading charities supporting people with convictions into sustainable employment. With established operations across the North East and a new Preston hub launching this autumn, The Recruitment Junction is entering an exciting phase of growth and national expansion. To support this journey, we are seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Operations Director to join the senior leadership team.

This is a unique opportunity to combine operational leadership, business growth and social impact within a fast-growing, purpose-driven organisation.

Reporting to the CEO, the Operations Director will lead operational delivery across multiple sites, supporting existing teams in Newcastle and Durham whilst helping establish and scale the organisation's presence in the North West. This is a highly visible leadership role for someone who enjoys building high-performing teams, developing partnerships and delivering measurable impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support Site Managers across multiple locations, driving performance, accountability and service quality.
  • Ensure teams achieve employment outcomes, employer engagement targets and operational objectives.
  • Support the opening and growth of new sites, including Preston and future expansion locations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, partners and key stakeholders.
  • Use data, performance metrics and CRM reporting to drive continuous improvement.
  • Coach, develop and motivate teams, creating a high-performing and values-led culture.
  • Work closely with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team to deliver growth plans and organisational objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability and service delivery.
  • Act as an ambassador for The Recruitment Junction, promoting its mission and impact externally.
  • Ensure services are delivered in line with safeguarding, compliance and quality standards.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
