Operations Director – Merry Hill Shopping Centre

Shape the Future of One of the UK’s Major Retail & Leisure Destinations

Merry Hill is one of the UK’s most prominent super-regional retail and leisure destinations, serving a significant catchment across the West Midlands and beyond. With Redical now in ownership, the centre is entering an exciting new chapter, with bold ambitions to drive performance, strengthen the brand mix and move Merry Hill towards becoming one of the leading retail and leisure destinations outside London.

Now, we’re looking for a dynamic and commercially minded Operations Director to help make that happen.

About the Role:

As Operations Director, you’ll be the strategic number two on site, reporting directly into the Centre Director and playing a pivotal role in the next phase of Merry Hill’s evolution.

This is not a traditional FM or compliance-led appointment. We’re looking for someone who can bring pace, energy, strong people leadership and a retail-led mindset to operational delivery. You’ll lead a large operational structure across cleaning, security, health & safety, technical services, environmental management and ESG, while helping to challenge how things are done, improve efficiency and deliver an exceptional guest and occupier experience.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
