Operations Director
National Role (UK Travel Required)

Are you an experienced operational leader with a strong background in industrial laundry, textile rental, or workwear processing? Do you have the expertise to drive performance across multiple sites while leading strategic growth and investment projects?
At phs Besafe, we're looking for an Operations Director to lead our national laundry and service operations. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, improving productivity, enhancing customer service, and supporting the continued growth of the business. You'll also serve as our technical laundry expert, leading best practice, major capital investment projects, and the development of future operational capability across our network.
Role Overview
The Operations Director role at phs Besafe will involve:
- Leading and delivering the operational strategy to support business growth, customer retention, and profitability.
- Driving operational performance, productivity, and continuous improvement across multiple sites.
- Acting as the technical lead for all laundry operations, ensuring best practice and high standards across workwear, roller towel, and specialist garment processing.
- Leading major capital investment projects, including new equipment installations, facility developments, and infrastructure improvements.
- Optimizing service delivery, route performance, labor utilization, and production planning to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
- Developing and inspiring high-performing teams, creating a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for an Operations Director at phs Besafe will have:
- Significant senior leadership experience within an industrial laundry, textile rental, or workwear environment.
- Proven experience managing multiple operational sites and large-scale production facilities.
- Strong technical knowledge of laundry operations, garment care, and textile processing.
- Experience delivering operational improvement, productivity enhancement, and capacity planning initiatives.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and operational costs.
- Demonstrable CapEx planning, business case development, and project delivery experience.
- A track record of leading and developing high-performing operational teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Experience working closely with customers to drive service excellence and retention.
- Strong Health & Safety and compliance knowledge within an operational environment.
- Experience supporting the design, build, or expansion of industrial facilities (desirable).
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement qualifications (desirable).
- Able to travel nationally and regular travel to our three main depots, Tipton, Kempston, and Wickford.
