Gwynt Y Mor Offshore Windfarm require a Operations Engineer with a Mechanical bias to support its Engineering department based at the Port of Mostyn. The role sits within the RWE Renewables - Offshore Operations UK Region 1 team and directly reports to the Windfarms Engineering Manager.
About the role
- You will provide engineering support to Wind Farm operations, covering 160 x 3.6MW Siemens WTGs
- You will act as the operational technical lead for Offshore WTG structures, drivetrain, blades and associated onshore facilities
- You will develop and manage inspection and maintenance campaigns together with the site management team, focusing on HSE, asset integrity and cost-effective delivery
- You will ensure engineering compliance in accordance with RWE Engineering Management Instructions and all relevant UK and EU standards and regulations
- You will assess, design and implement plant modifications and use condition monitoring techniques to support the safe and reliable operation of site assets
- You will act as a delegated Contract Officer and Project Manager, managing budgets, technical specifications and engineering work scopes across offshore and onshore facilities
- You will support Offshore JUV operations by providing engineering guidance, client representative support and technical expertise
- You will develop technical documentation, RAMS, quality assurance processes and procedures while using Microsoft and CMMS software to support critical decision-making, asset integrity and wind farm performance

Job requirements and experience
- Degree qualified engineer with experience in power generation, offshore wind or a heavy industry environment. A BEng or MEng is preferred, although HNC/HND candidates with significant relevant experience will also be considered
- Strong mechanical engineering background with a good understanding of electrical engineering projects and multidisciplinary asset management
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex engineering information and develop practical solutions
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively with specialists, contractors and operational teams
- Experience in project management, contract management, budget control and contractor oversight
- Process-driven mindset with a strong focus on continuous improvement, quality and engineering governance
- Flexible and adaptable approach suited to the demands of an offshore operational environment, including working at height and in restricted spaces when required
- Confident using Microsoft Office applications and engineering or maintenance management systems, with strong reporting and presentation skills
