DOC Holder – Overhead Lines, Cables & Substations (NGED Authorised)

Location: Staffordshire

Experts Group International is supporting a major UK power infrastructure contractor delivering a 132kV NGED project and is seeking an experienced DOC Holder to support the safe delivery of overhead line, underground cable, and substation works.

The Project

Installation of 10 new 132kV underground cable circuits from existing overhead line tower locations into a new GIS substation. The DOC Holder will provide operational control throughout key construction activities, including excavation, cable installation, jointing, and associated works.

Responsibilities

  • Hold operational control of NGED assets.
  • Ensure compliance with NGED Electrical Safety Rules.
  • Manage operational interfaces between NGED and the Principal Contractor.
  • Control electrical safety during cable, overhead line, and substation activities.
  • Coordinate operational documentation, permits, and switching requirements.
  • Liaise with site teams, SAPs, commissioning engineers, and Network Control.

Requirements

  • Current NGED DOC Holder authorisation (Mandatory).
  • Authorised for:
    • Overhead Lines
    • Underground Cables
    • Substations
  • Experience on 132kV transmission/distribution projects.
  • Strong knowledge of HV operational control and electrical safety procedures.
