Our client is looking for an Operations Engineer to join their Technology team, playing a key role in maintaining and evolving the infrastructure that supports large-scale digital platforms used by thousands of organisations and millions of users.
This is a varied, hands-on position where you'll help ensure critical systems remain secure, available and resilient while contributing to continuous improvements across databases, infrastructure, monitoring and automation. Whether you're already experienced with AWS or looking to build your cloud expertise, you'll have the opportunity to develop your skills while working with modern technologies in a collaborative engineering environment.

About You
You'll enjoy this role if you're naturally curious, methodical and take pride in building reliable systems that people can depend on.
Ideally, you'll bring experience with:
- Database administration across MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
- Linux systems administration within production environments.
- Managing clustered databases or high-availability infrastructure.
- Monitoring platforms and operational observability.
- VMware virtualisation technologies.
- Networking fundamentals including DNS, routing and firewall technologies.
- Backup, disaster recovery and business continuity processes.
- Bash, Python or other scripting and automation tools.
- Infrastructure documentation and change management practices.
Experience with AWS services such as RDS, Aurora, Route 53, S3, Lambda or CloudFront would be beneficial, but it's certainly not essential. If you're keen to develop your cloud skills, our client is committed to supporting your learning and professional growth.
If you don't meet every requirement but have transferable infrastructure experience and a genuine passion for operations engineering, we'd still encourage you to apply.

Additional Information
- Permanent position
- Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
- Monday to Friday
- Participation in an out-of-hours support rota for critical incidents and planned maintenance is required.
