Operations Event Manager
Location: London, UK
Division: Informa Markets/Connect – Solar Media
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join our team on a 6-month contract, taking ownership of the planning and delivery of a portfolio of international events alongside our existing team. This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can quickly integrate into the team, manage existing event plans, and take responsibility for budgets, suppliers, logistics, and on-site delivery. You will work closely with the Product, Marketing, Sales, and Content teams to ensure our events are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end operational planning and delivery for an allocated portfolio of international events
- Develop and maintain event project plans, timelines, and operational schedules
- Manage event budgets, supplier contracts, purchase orders, and financial reporting
- Coordinate venues, catering, AV, production, registration, and other event logistics
- Lead on-site operations, ensuring smooth event delivery and an excellent customer experience
- Manage relationships with venues, suppliers, sponsors, and internal stakeholders
- Oversee the operational setup of event technology, including registration and attendee engagement platforms
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, accessibility, and sustainability requirements
- Identify and resolve operational risks, providing regular updates on event readiness and budgets
- Complete post-event reporting and ensure a clear handover of outstanding actions

What You Bring to the Team
- 3–5 years' experience in event operations, within B2B conferences or exhibitions
- Proven ability to independently manage multiple events from planning through to delivery
- Strong budget management, supplier negotiation, and project management skills
- Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to quickly take ownership of existing projects and deliver against deadlines
- Experience working across international markets would be beneficial
