At Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS), operational excellence is not just a goal, it is the standard we hold ourselves to every day, across every vessel and every voyage. As an Operations Executive, you will be at the heart of that effort, ensuring the seamless execution of voyage requirements across our diverse fleet of gas carriers, tankers, container vessels, and bulk carriers. From coordinating with brokers, agents, and masters to managing charter party compliance and voyage documentation, this is a role where attention to detail and a proactive mindset make a real difference to how our fleet performs on the global stage.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor vessel movements and update internal operational systems to ensure accurate real-time tracking.
- Manage voyage documentation and correspondence throughout the entire charter lifecycle, ensuring records are complete and up to date.
- Coordinate with superintendents, brokers, agents, vendors, and masters to facilitate smooth and efficient voyage execution.
- Appoint agents and oversee service providers, arranging timely remittances as required.
- Initiate billing submissions for freight, demurrage, and other maritime claims.
- Ensure full compliance with company policies and all contractual charter party obligations.
- Facilitate voyage orders, stowage plans, and bunkering arrangements for both spot and time charters.
- Liaise with security and insurance departments when vessels operate in high-risk maritime areas, and obtain letters of indemnity (LOIs) from charterers as required.
- Maintain accurate vessel certificates and updated records within relevant IT platforms.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
